Ritron,
Inc. is a privately held U.S. corporation
located in a suburb northeast of Indianapolis,
Indiana. The company was founded in 1977 by E.
W. (Bill) Rice III, BSEE Purdue. Mr. Rice worked
as an electronic countermeasures project
engineer at the U. S. Naval Avionics Facility in
Indianapolis. During his tenure at the Hazeltine
Corporation he was instrumental in developing
the world's first general aviation transponder.
Today, the core competency of
the company is the design and manufacture of
wireless (RF) voice and data communication
products for business and industry. Products
include: portable and mobile 2-way radios;
vandal-resistant radio callboxes; base stations
and wireless mass notification systems. A wide
range of "customized" wireless transceivers and
radio modems is also offered for the Original
Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and integrator
marketplace.
